A touching dolphin tale for the New Year

This new year brings bags of goodness and feel good movies in the form of a movie that will not only make you feel sombre and emotional but will make you want to do more to protect the animal species. From the 8th of January 2012, Ster-Kinekor Theatres will be bringing you the heart-warming story, Dolphin Tale, which forms part of the ‘My Happy Holiday’ promotion that is still currently under way.

Dolphin Tale revolves around a friendless and lonely little boy named Sawyer who finds a vulnerable dolphin (Winter) that has been caught in a crab trap. Sawyer played by Nathan Gamble, takes it upon himself to untangle the seized dolphin, only to find himself attached to the creature when his tail needs to be amputated in order to save its life. Sawyer whole heartedly believes that if the dolphin is given a prosthetic tail, it will be able to swim normally.

This touching movie also features stellar performances from Morgan Freeman (Invictus), Ashley Judd (Bug) and Harry Connick Jr (New in Town). This Family drama which runs for 113 minutes was directed by Charles Martin Smith who brought you the much loved movie, Air Bud and the popular television series, Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

Despite the fact that the holidays are drawing to a close, you still have the chance to form part of the festivities.
